I offer individual, couple, family and group therapy and mindfulness based programs as well as clinical supervision and consultation.
I enjoy working with people from a holistic and collaborative perspective to move towards their preferred ways of being. Together we explore ways to build on existing strengths and enhance compassion, joy and healthy connections in relationships with self and others. As a therapist for over twenty-eight years, I feel honoured to share people's journeys and continue to be inspired by human resiliency and capacity to change - even in the most challenging circumstances
I have extensive training and experience in working with people experiencing challenges related to childhood trauma, depressed and anxious moods, grief and loss, chronic pain and health issues and with couples and families facing relationship challenges.
I draw on varied approaches including collaborative, systemic, experiential, psychodynamic, mind-body, EMDR and more cognitively oriented approaches to therapy. As a teacher of the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program (MBSR) for over sixteen years, I am committed to assisting others to bring mindfulness into their daily lives.
I have completed a professional training to offer the MBSR Program with Jon Kabat Zinn. I am also trained as a Clinical hypnotherapist and as a Yoga Therapist. I am currently completing training as a Somatic experience practitioner.
I am an Approved Supervisor with the Canadian Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, which allows me to offer training and clinical supervision for Masters level therapists seeking to become registered family therapists and family therapy supervisors.
I am registered with the Ontario Colleges of Social Work, Psychotherapy and the Canadian Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
*For those who require psychology receipts, I work under the supervision of registered Counselling Psychologist, Dr. David Pare
