Aimee Anderson MSW RSW is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist. Aimee has 28 years of clinical social work practice. She holds a BSW from Carleton University and an MSW from Dalhousie University. Aimee is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers as well as a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Aimee is an enthusiastic learner and continually trains in new therapies to provide her clients with excellent care. Aimee provides counselling and psychotherapy services to insured clients under the supervision of registered Counselling Psychologist, Dr. David Paré.
Aimee uses a variety of therapeutic approaches to help clients find solutions to individual and family difficulties. Her approach to counselling is influenced by Narrative therapy, relaxation and mindfulness techniques, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Brief-Solution Focused Therapy and Collaborative Therapies. Aimee's clinical social work practice is focused on adults over the age of 21 years, First Responders, Military members and Veterans who are experiencing difficult transitions. She offers a safe, confidential and non-judgemental approach for all clients. Her approach finds balance between addressing a person's "problems" within the medical model and creating new stories to move through the problem. Aimee's clinical experience offers the ability for safe, confidential, and non-judgemental therapeutic relationships. Her approach is supportive and compassionate.
