About Us

The Glebe Institute was formed in 2002 by Mishka Lysack, Ph.D. and David Paré, Ph.D. Mishka is now a professor in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary. David is the Glebe Institute's director. He is a professor at the University of Ottawa in the Faculty of Education as well as a registered counselling psychologist in Ontario. David supervises the Glebe Institute's clinical associates-counsellors and family therapists in Ottawa and Kingston who specialize in constructive, collaborative and strength-based approaches to counselling and therapy.


In addition to constituting a community of counselling and psychotherapy practitioners, The Glebe Institute offers periodic training to the community, both through open workshops advertised for the general public and targeted trainings under contract with specific workplaces.
