Wala’a Farahat
Wala’a Farahat is a Registered Psychotherapist with an MA in counselling from Saint Paul University. She is a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, as well as the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Wala’a currently works in community settings as a brief therapy walk-in counsellor and long term therapist, as well as in private practice. She believes in providing a safe non-judgemental environment that acknowledges the individual, their unique experiences, culture, skills, and values as a whole.

Wala’a has experience working with clients with various presenting issues including: depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief, self-esteem, and migration and culture-related challenges. Her approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and incorporates Somatic Experiencing, Narrative and Attachment theories. She also draws from various therapeutic techniques that include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Systems Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Wala’a provides services in English and Arabic, and works primarily with adults, youth, children and families.
