Charu is a registered psychotherapist (RP), and has a Masters of Education in Counselling from Ottawa University. She is a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). |
She provides individual therapy with both men and women in private practice. With 18 years of experience, her areas of specialty include trauma, sexual assault and abuse, and family violence. She also works with clients facing a range of other issues including family of origin issues, childhood traumas, relationship issues, symptoms of PTSD such as depression and anxiety, and persons dealing with chronic illness and disease. She also has experience with, and works with people from diverse and multi-cultural backgrounds and communities, including immigrants, refugees and newcomers, persons from the LGBT and Aboriginal communities, and first generation Canadians.
Charu works with clients from a collaborative perspective in order to establish and maintain a safe and nurturing therapeutic relationship. She works from various perspectives, tailoring the therapy to the individual client, and their needs. She believes in helping clients learn more about themselves, change and grow, heal from past events and gain the ability to live freely, enjoy their lives, find empowerment, and become their authentic selves. She has been trained in, and offers Mindfulness, EMDR, and Sandtray therapy techniques. Charu provides counselling services to insured clients under the supervision of registered Counselling Psychologist, Dr. David Paré.
