Heidi Mack
Heidi Mack specializes in work related to disordered eating, eating disorders, body esteem, and women’s voice in their journey toward change. Heidi is refreshing in her ability to generate playful reflection, intervention, and prevention. She is particularly concerned with the women’s work in becoming aligned, authentic, and congruent — matching their inside values and needs with their lived life experience generated through communication that is compassionate to self and others.
Heidi has been a psychotherapist in private counseling practice, specializing in eating disorders through experiential and narrative therapy since 1990, spends her time creating workshops and retreats, facilitating professional development days, running support groups, teaching at the University level in counseling, being a mother to a daughter and enjoying creativity through painting. She is committed to change through self reflection and mindfulness and weaves these themes through most work that she does.
Heidi is currently a doctoral candidate in transformative education at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Music, a Bachelor of Education in Outdoor and Experiential Education, and a Masters of Education (in experiential therapies for disordered eating) and is a Certified Canadian Counsellor. Heidi has taught in public and private schools both in Canada and internationally, at the college level in counselling and therapeutic skills, and spent five years teaching at the Faculty of Education, Queen's University.
Heidi is currently practicing in Kingston Ontario and Ottawa Ontario. She is not accepting intakes in her Ottawa practice at this time.
